Robert Garner

Robert L. Garner was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Katherine (Kitty) and Robert Garner on November 18,1960.

Robert went through the Pittsburgh Public Schools and attended George Westinghouse High School. He later earned his GED.

He met Shelly Hall and had one daughter Janalle Garner.

Robert was fortunate to obtain employment in the gaming industry. He worked in casinos in New Jersey and Mississippi. Upon his return to Pittsburgh, he worked at East End Cooperative Ministry with at-risk youth and at the Quiet Storm coffee shop in Garfield until his health deteriorated.

He was a long time member of the Good Hope Baptist Church. He participated in the Sunday School, sang in the choir and attended the Baptist Training Union.

Robert in his later life was devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother ; Jean Bowling and mother Kitty Garner. He leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Robin (Denny) Garner; Renee Garner; daughter Janalle Garner; four grandchildren Nia, Taylor, Tyler and Nevada and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
