Alease Givner

Alease Givner was born November 19, 1948, in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Audrey James, husband Ulysses Givner sister and brother Regina and Raymond James and granddaughter Danesha Dixon.

Alease received her education through the Pittsburgh Public School System.  She married Thomas Williams and gave birth to Rena and Kimberly.  She later remarried Ulysses Givner and out of that union came two children Deanda and Ulysses Jr.  Over the years she enjoyed being a homemaker.  She was an exceptional cook and loved to entertain.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother.  Many were touched by her love and hospitality.  Throughout the community she was affectionately as Tootsie, grandma or Aunt Tootsie.

As an adult, Tootsie made the decision to give her life to the Lord.  She enjoyed being with family.  She helped to enrich the lives of others.  Later in her life she was an excellent caretaker to her mother until she passed.  In return her daughter Kimberly, granddaughter Alease (Candi, family friends Henry Finney and Cassandra (Sandy) Charles, and sister Renee had a pleasure of being caretakers to her until her passing.

Tootsie will truly be missed by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her legacy will forever be remembered as family orientated.  Tootsie peacefully departed this life on April 14, 2016 at her home surrounded by many loved ones. She leaves behind to mourn: her daughters Rena, Kim, Deanda and son Ulysses, Jr.  Sisters: Phyllis, Renee and other family members, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
