William H. Thompson (53) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, fondly known as Will, was born to Henry and Patricia Thompson on September 23, 1970. William grew up in Pittsburgh and attended the Pittsburgh Public School District. Will enjoyed football and swimming.
The legacy of Will's kind spirit will live on through his children and all of us whose lives he touched. Will enjoyed life, family, and friends. He would always host a BBQ, holiday dinner or random chill time spent at one of the houses over the years where many of us had the opportunity to fellowship and have family time. Will's commitment to his family was something that he was very proud about. He was always excited and overjoyed to see everyone together having a good time and enjoying each other.
Will was no ordinary man. As an entrepreneur. Will employed many whom he was able to teach mason work, carpentry, roof works and so much more. There are so many in this family he instilled hard work into at a young age and we carry those instructions with us to this day.
Will battled valiantly for years with a decline in health because of his kidneys. In 2009, he received a kidney from his oldest daughter Bridget, which helped to sustain his life.
Will departed to his heavenly home on November 3, 2023. He was received by his paternal grandparents, Henry and Christine Thompson, maternal grandparents William and Esther Baker, Aunt Marion Mobley, Uncle Johnny Baker, Uncle Johnny Scott, and Uncle Christopher Thompson. He is survived by his parents, Henry and Patricia Thompson, and siblings: Sister Christine and Alphonso, Travis Thompson, Marla and Barnett Harris; five children: Bridget I. Thompson, Atiya N. Thompson, Aliyah R. Thompson, William U. Thompson, Samia M. Pench, grandson James K. Hager: Aunt Emelyn Scott, Uncle William A. Baker III and Aunt DeVaughn, and Fannie Ali, two nephews Alphonso Warren and Christian Warren, one niece Alexandria Warren, and host of cousins and friends.
