William Gregory Butler

William G. Butler was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 9, 1954, to the late, William Butler and Sybil Hardy Butler. He departed this life on April 26, 2023, and now rests peacefully in the arms of our loving God! We affectionately called him, Billy although he wore many hats one being the Patriarch of The Butler Family! Billy graduated from Penn Hills High School and furthered his education at Penn State University.  He retired from the Allegheny County Jail as a Correctional Officer. Billy loved doing work around the house, building ponds, and planting gardens we couldn’t wait for him to pick peppers and green tomatoes. He was also an avid Jazz lover. Billy was also preceded in death by his Parents William F and Sybil Butler. His daughter, Tiffany Miller, his brothers Stanford Hardy and Andre Butler Sr., his sisters, Sharon Hardy, and Suzette Hardy Blackwell; along with his loving in-laws, Mr and Mrs William Thorn Jr and Beatrice Thorn. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Laurene Butler, His brother Lamont Butler; Brother in Law William Thorn lll; Sister in Law Antoinette  Butler; and Sister in Law Ellen Hardy.  His sons Kenny Jones of Pittsburgh PA and Tyrone Campbell of New Kensington PA.  His daughters Kaleena Butler of Akron OH; Trena (Pa Hali Jr) Jammeh of Elkton MD and Brittany Beck of Vandergrift PA.

His grandchildren Lamar McCoy, James McCoy, Jackie McCoy, Tyesha Campbell Tyrone Campbell Jr, Dante Stocks; Lawrence McQuaide III, Pa Hali Jammeh III, Sainey Jammeh, and Lawrence Phillip Davis and 3 Great Grandchildren Kevin,  Ri'leigh, and Jazzlynn.  A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
