Von Washington Obituary

Von Dahne Washington, age 31, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 15, 1989. He had his life tragically taken too soon and soared to glory on April 20, 2021. Von was the son of the late Darryl Washington and Jacqueline Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his brother Darryl Washington Jr., his Aunt Karmen, and his grandparents Robert and Barbara Jean Ewing and Mr. and Mrs. James E. Wilson. Von’s proudest and most significant contribution to our world is his children firstborn Elijah Price Washington (11), Jeremiah Khalif Washington (8), Karmen Marie Washington (7), and Journey Marie Washington (2).

Von was born in Pittsburgh and spent the early years of his life proudly running Kelly Street in Homewood. Following that, he lived a short time in Kentucky with his mom before they moved to Powder Springs in Cobb County outside of Atlanta. Here is where Von developed his family through lifelong friendships. While living there, Von met Ariel and proudly become a father to Elijah and shortly after Jeremiah and Karmen. Von returned to Pittsburgh and found a career path in carpentry and construction. He was skilled (and fast as he liked to tell people) making him excellent at what he did. He learned everything he knew from Mr. Leonard Hoffman and held various jobs in this field including Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh where he worked in Homewood to improve and build up his neighborhood. He also started his own business, We Fix It All Home Improvement.

Von was not a stranger to anybody. Within 5 minutes of meeting him, you would be laughing and feeling like you knew him your entire life. He was a passionate, soulful, kind, and big-hearted man. His love for his children was evident and truly his pride and joy. Von was a creative mind and always thinking about his next endeavor. He could usually be found surrounded by friends, listening to or making music, dancing, getting on Demi’s nerves, and playing with his youngest daughter, Journey. His energy was unmatched.

He leaves to mourn his mother, his four children, his brother (Deshawn), niece (Dasha) and nephew (Quadir), loving aunt (Kristine), two uncles (Don and Keith), cousins (Andre, Tasha, Nykiesha, Nina) as well as his Grandmother Geraldine Washington, stepmother (Cynthia), sister (Kelly), aunts (Chyneta and Kim), uncles (Keith, Anthony, David) and cousins (Ashley, Stormy, Melissa, Altimease, Andre, Donald, Arven, Chanel, Michael, Jasmine, Dominic, Kelly) as well as many other relatives, friends, and friends that we all consider family.

Another angel gone to glory, Von you will be missed more than you could ever know but always remembered.
