Tru King Rice was born April 6, 2022, at 3:31 a.m. and weighed 4 lbs. 15 oz. He was the son of Chance J. and Sabrina A. (Coker) Rice.
Tru quickly discovered there was a whole world around him and he took in every bit of it with his big beautiful brown eyes. Talking to him was such a joy because he hung on to your every word as if he truly understood what you were saying.
With the help of his Mom, Tru discovered the animated series “Paw Patrol”. One episode and he was hooked. Tru and his furry, paw buddies hung out daily.
Chance and Sabrina nicknamed Tru “Doo-da Man”. It started with Chance calling himself “Dukie Dad” which turned into “Doo-da Man”. Dukie and Doo-da Man enjoyed fun times with “D” words. They danced, ate cheese doodles, pretend to drive the car, and dreamt together. Sabrina often joked about being jealous, but in reality, she knew there was nothing like a father-son bond. Chance and Sabrina will cherish these memories “six-ever”. Tru was born on the sixth day, so Chance and Sabrina adopted the phrase “six-ever” (a play on forever).
Tru was also lovingly called a variety of other names such as “Tru Tru”, “King”, “Tru Bear”, “Doo-doo man”, and “Little Puddin”.
In the late hours of August 16, 2022, Tru was called home. The early report cites his passing from natural causes.
He is very sadly missed and leaves to cherish his memories, his siblings: Leslie A. Nicholas, Shance’ Wellons, Chance J. Rice Jr., JaSaun Rice, and Storm A. Coker. Pappy and Grammy: Edward and Maribeth Coker, Papa and Gigi, Samuel and Georgette Rice. Aunts: Britney Berry, Amina Coker, and Cousin Nay Thompson. Uncles: Ian Robinson, Robert Parham, Errol (Dawn) Mangham, Samuel Rice Jr., Kordell Rice, Gregory Dalton, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
"My silent child, our precious baby, close to my heart I'll keep you with me. An important job God has for you, there is love to give, and work to do.”
