OBITUARY
Tommy Scott Thompson, 79, of Monessen, Pa, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2021, in UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital. Born in Monongahela, Pa., on Aug. 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Blanche C. and Andrew C. Thompson. He graduated in 1960 from Monongahela High School and was a basketball star. Tom worked for SPHS in Charleroi, Pa. for close to 50-years in the maintenance and transportation departments. He also worked at Lee-Norse in Charleroi, Pa., and Eat-N-Park in Monongahela. Pa. He was a member of Bethel AME Church in Monongahela, Pa. Tom loved his Cadillac and was a good friend to all. He also loved his NASCAR races, car shows, cutting grass and especially loved his family. Tom was known by many, a great man, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was a man with a kind heart, always putting everyone above himself. He always put a smile on people’s faces. He is survived by his sons Jason A. Thompson of Pittsburgh, Pa., Robert L. (Tamatha) Thomas of Gretna, Va. and Collin Fagan of Donora, Pa., daughters Fallon M. Thompson of Monessen, Pa., Jennifer G. Love of Donora, Pa., and Melissa D. (Aaron) Coleman of El Cajon, Ca. Grandchildren Micah, Bianca, Kobe, Roberto, Diamante, Skye, and Skyler; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and family members in the area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria J. Thompson.
