Tiamo was the only child born to the union of Tami Lindsay and Curtis Thorpe in Pittsburgh, PA on August 31, 1985. Tiamo, affectionately known as ‘TIP’ to his friends and ‘Tee’ to his family, was full of life, laughter and love. With his light brown eyes and infectious laugh, Tiamo would light up any room he was in. He spread love and laughter wherever he went.
Tiamo was his mother’s life, his father’s pride, both of his grandmothers’ joy, his grandfather’s ‘Booka’ and his Aunt Gloria’s ride or die. Whenever Tiamo and Gloria were together, crazy antics followed, and then they would go to church together. Of all the fruits of the spirit, his best was love---his love of family, friends, music and photography. After working for various companies as a certified forklift driver, Tiamo discovered that he could earn a better living as a Lyft driver, while also pursuing his goal of owning a photography studio. If you saw Tiamo, you saw him with some type of camera in hand, ready to shoot a video or take an awesome picture. Tiamo was passionate about music, which earned him a full scholarship to Tennessee State University.Once he returned home, he attended AIU for media production. He gave back to his community by working with his beloved North Clayton H.S. Mighty Marching Eagles and the Morehouse College Marching Band. His greatest dream was to one day teach little kids to play instruments and become a band director himself. Tiamo loved so many and was loved by so many more.
He leaves to cherish his sweet memory, his parents Tami Lindsay and Curtis Thorp;, Grandmothers Mary M. Lindsay and Priscilla Thorpe; Brother Nathaniel Hockaday, Jr. (Brianna); Godmother Jacqueline Burke; Aunts Gloria Morton (Lawrence), Rene Johnson and Grizel Lindsay; Uncles Eugene Johnson (Nette), Lamont Foster, James Lindsay (Cynthia); Great Aunts Connie Kane and Janice Thorpe; Great Uncles Leon, Phillip and Jerry Thorpe; and a host of other family and friends. Tiamo has now joined his ancestors: Grandfathers Willie C. Lindsay and Eugene Johnson Sr. (Daisy); and Uncle L. Charles Lindsay (Sandra).
