Thomas E McDonald, Jr., born February 19, 1952, in Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, after a long illness.
He was preceded in death by parents: Thomas E. McDonald Sr and Harriet McDonald, brothers: Gerald and Richard McDonald, and longtime companion Norita (Billy) Golden. He attended Penn Hills High School and Forbes Trade School where he graduated as an electrician.
Tommy was an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He resided and worked for many years in Washington D.C. as an electrician at several government agencies and METRO. Tommy served in the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. Through his disability, he was closely associated with pioneering infectious disease research, for which he received several awards and recognition from the Veterans Administration. Tommy was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and wore all things Steelers during football season.
Tommy leaves behind to mourn his passing brothers: Ronald (Dorothy), and Harold (Maelene), sisters: Claudia, Deborah, Constance (Stanley), and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial celebration of life service will be held in Pittsburgh, PA at 4:00 PM at House Of Law, Inc. Monroeville on October 24th, 2024 with interment at the National Cemeteries of the Alleghenies.
