Terrence Lamar Carter was born November 9, 1970 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Charles “Nick” Carter and Charlotta “Mona” Carter. Terrence grew up in St. Clair Village where he was surrounded and supported by many family and friends. Terrence was educated through the Pittsburgh Public Schools and graduated from Carrick High School in 1988 where he was not only an athlete but also a scholar. He had a passion for reggae music and was an avid basketball player. Terrence was employed for 20 years at US Steel Corporation. Although he loved his career, basketball, friends and family, his greatest joy was being a father, and most recently a grandfather.
Terrence touched the hearts of everyone he knew. He was known by his glasses, his corny sense of humor, big smile, but most importantly his generosity and his commitment to all whom he encountered. Simply put to know Terrence was to love Terrence. He was preceded in death by grandparents Willis Gray, Charles & Lucille Drew and cousins John Cargile & Tayron Cargile. Terrence leaves to mourn his death yet cherish his memory; daughters: Tailyn LaVonne & Terenee Victoria, granddaughter Mia Michelle, loving mother Charlotta Carter, father Charles Carter, twin brother Tyrone Carter & brother Torrance Carter, sisters: Janeen Slater, Asia Carter & Alika Carter, grandmother Rose Gray, Godchildren India, Kay, & Kalvon.
