Talitha Stroud

TODAY, We celebrate and pay tribute to the life of Talitha (Jiles) Stroud, who, following a brief period of illness, transitioned into eternal life on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. She was one of nine children of which seven have preceded her in death.

"Tee", as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was born to the union of Fred and Louise Jiles. Her life journey began on Thursday, June 26, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School System from the beginning through ending at Fifth Avenue High School.

Following high school, Tee began the adult phase of employment. She worked at Montefiore Hospital for a period of time before moving on to the HJ Heinz Company where she would remain for 33 years before retiring completely from the workforce.

It was also during her adult years that Talitha would meet the Love of her life, Robert (Bobby) Stroud. Years of friendship would blossom into love, and they united in Holy Matrimony in July of 1985. Their union was blessed with one Son, Anthony Jiles. In 1996, Talitha united with Baptist Temple Church and quickly became an active member of the Health Ministry and also volunteered wherever needed.

For enjoyment, Tee loved to spend time with Bobby, traveling, and just entertaining family and friends at their home, especially during the Holidays.

Among other family members, Talitha was preceded in death by both of her parents, Fred and Louise Jiles; 3 sisters, Lorraine Jiles; Patricia Reed, LaVeda Craig; and 4 brothers, Stanley Reed, Eddie Jamison, Fred Jiles Jr., and Sammy Jiles.

She leaves to cherish memories of times shared, her beloved Husband Robert Stroud; 1 devoted Son, Anthony Jiles (Candace); 3 step-children, Renita, Gail, and Kenneth Stroud; 1 sister, Marva Price; grandchildren, Tioerra Banks, Brittany Stroud, and 1 step-grandson, Ward Coon; 3 great-grandchildren, Tristan, Trace, and Trent; bonus family, Wayne, and Rose Weaver; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
