North Side. where she graduated from Oliver High School. In 1967 she became a single young Mother to Alissa Thompkins/ Bourquin. She had a love of Learning. Shirley
put herself thru college and Graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Early Childhood of Education. As the Education System began to change she moved into Real Estate. In her 30s and 40s, she became a Grandmother to four grandchildren. She loved watching them grow and become Adults. She enjoyed Summertime with her Grandchildren. She was a staple person in their lives. Like my mother, she was my best friend, advisor, and inspiration. Shirley enjoyed life and all it has to give. Later in life, she married Larry Pegues.
Fall of 2021 she became a Great Grandmother at Thanksgiving she met her 1st Great Grandson, a pivotal moment in her life that she enjoyed. We are grateful that she had that time with him. Today we are here to Celebrate the Life of Shirley Ann Thompkins-Pegues.
I am forever Grateful, Thankful for all I shared in my Life with my Mom. Thank you all for the support and caring thoughts during this time. Many thanks from Bourquin, Pegues, and Thompkins Families.
