Samuel “Big Sam” Jackson was born on February 15, 1958. He was the son of Raymond L. Jackson and the late Johanna (McArthur) Jackson in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
At an early age, Samuel was intrigued in taking things apart and putting them back together. This Mr. FIX-IT like skills followed him as he grew up. Samuel lived in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, where he received his education from Wilkinsburg High School. After high school, Samuel enlisted into the United States Army, where he traveled to and from various countries, while serving his country.
After leaving the United States Military, Samuel traveled back to Pittsburgh, PA where he met and started a family with Zena Marie Standford, and a few years later he would be renamed as “Big Sam”.
“Big Sam” had many enjoyments, one of which was fishing. He also enjoyed camping and being outdoors. He had a natural talent of being a comedian always providing laughter to his family and friends.
On August 26, 2020, Samuel departed this life and was preceded in death by his sister, Doretha Johnson; brother, Raymond L. Jackson and mother, Johanna Jackson.
