Ruth Griffin

Ruth Wida Griffin was born on June 24, 1928 in Cairo, Georgia to Mattie Atkins-Washington & George Washington Sr. In her youth she attended a private elementary school.

She attended Douglas High School in Thomasville, Georgia. She also found love for God at an early age & the first church she attended was St. Thomas AME.

Before marriage she worked in food service at a local hospital in Pittsburgh PA and she also worked in a bakery. She loved to cook and taking care of people was her second nature.

Ruth was a nurturer and played a huge part in the upbringing of many. She fostered and adopted many children in her adulthood. She was a true blessing and loved to take care of others.

She married her loving husband Thomas Griffin Sr. on September 28, 1954.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Thomas Griffin Sr.
Sons: Reginald Griffin & Thomas Griffin Jr. Brothers: Oris Washington, John Washington, George Washington.
Sister: Evelyn Washington & Jeanette Walker.

As Ruth crossed over leaving to cherish her memory are her brother Melvin Washington, children: Denise Ogilvie, Charles Griffin, Consuela Jones, Alyce Griffin, Todd Griffin. Grandchildren: Donna Ogilvie, Sean Ogilvie, Kita Griffin, Kiare Auston, Talisha Griffin, Jasmine Jones, Crystal Cain, Christopher Jones, Christian Anderson & a host of other family members & friends.
