Rosetta Fredericks Obituary

On March 25, 2019, Rosetta suddenly transitioned to her heavenly home. Rosetta, better known as Zetta, was born to the late Caesar and Doris Butler in Wampum, PA. Lovingly, she was also known as Peter Pan, Mom, Buttercup and Buddy. She was recognized for calling her loved ones the most precious names including “Babe” and many other colorful and loving phrases. She shared her developmental years with her beautiful sisters, Kaye Dupree (Ernie), Paula Day (the late John), her twin sister, Roselle Watts and Cheryl Mosley (Herman). She graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Health Related Professions from the University of Pittsburgh which inspired her to become a respiratory therapist and pulmonary technician. Zetta excelled in her medical career providing healing support at West Penn Hospital, running a pulmonary clinic at Good Shepherd in Allentown, PA, and retiring as a respiratory therapist at McGuire Memorial Homes in New Brighton. She married Jerome Leonard and together they provided a loving parental foundation for their children, Roger Leonard (Trina), Elisa Sanders (Charles), Stephanie Lautar-Weidner (Rob). Zetta was the proud grandmother of “her friends” Ivan Leonard (Tiffany), Tia Clark (Lewis), Charles Sanders, Alexis Lautar, Joshua Sanders and Caleb Sanders. She was the great grandmother of Alanna Clark, Lewis Clark and Romaro Clark. She had a special connection with her God–daughter Brice Mosley and her “special” grandsons Meleak Potter, Vaughn Wallace and Alex Hays. As an animal advocate, she was the dedicated mother of her fur baby, Pepper and grandmother of her grand-dogs Autumn and Coco. In fact, her fur-baby is extremely comfortable with a lavish lifestyle which must be continued at Zetta’s request. As a lover of life, Zetta was known for bringing the party and living life unapologetically. Known for her playful attire including her statement tennis shoes and t-shirts, she reminded us regularly, “Age is just a number, Baby!” She was the intercessor for the entire family; she was a woman who operated fully in faith and demanded answered prayers. Her prayer philosophy, “Babe, I just believe, I just believe!” Zetta’s common phrase, “Babe, whatcha doing?” would ignite a phone call that could last hours with loving advise on life. Zetta is proceeded in death by her parents Caesar and Doris Butler and twin sister Roselle Watts. Zetta will be missed by a host of family members, friends and the Rivers Casino crew. In her own words. “I got to get out there and have some fun. So deal with it, okay?!“ “Life is to be enjoyed! So pour a double vodka, splash of water, slice of lime in a shot glass and enjoy (life)
