Robin Ricketts Obituary

Robin (Redbreast) Twila Ricketts was born on August 25, 1969, to the late George and Sadie Ricketts. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Arlene and Sadie-MyLove Ricketts. She was the youngest of 14 children. Our Robin departed this life to go on to glory on May 11, 2023. Robin accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and is now enjoying eternal life with her family.

Robin graduated from Peabody High School. She was gifted as an artist from a very young age. Drawing, crafting, and jewelry making would become her passion. Many thought that she would trace drawings because they were exceptionally lifelike. But NO - Robin actually drew with precision. Robin would later attend the Pittsburgh Art Institute. She also studied cosmetology and was quite a fashionista.

Robin enjoyed her nieces and nephews tremendously. She would buy them gifts, toys and anything that she thought they would take delight in! She would laugh heartily while they enjoyed their Aunt.

Robin was a resident at Mountain View Senior Living in Greensburg. Quotes from residents: “Robin was a staple here,”; “Robin drew so many beautiful pictures, portraits, and made all types of crafts”. Quote from Vanessa the Activities Director: “She was my assistant. She helped me with everything”. Robin gave them fashion tips, make-up tips, and hairdressing tips.

Everyone at Mountain View was heartbroken at the news. Robin had made so many friends. She enjoyed being involved with all of the birthday parties and special events that were held there. Robin loved bingo and was the top bingo winner. She accumulated thousands of dollars in Bingo money. She joked she would be rich if it was real money, and was truly excited when it was time for Bingo to cash in. We will miss her smile and laugh that would light up a room!

Robin leaves precious memories to her sisters: Joyce Ricketts Rollins, Marie Ricketts, Mary Simpson (David), Judy Bryant (Charles), Donna Jordan (David), and Julia Nevilles (Willie): Brothers: George Ricketts (Gail), David Ricketts (Deborah), John Ricketts (Linda), Jesse Ricketts, Sr. (Dianne), Pierce Ricketts, and Mario Ricketts, Sr. (Marsha); 35 nieces & nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.
