Robert Lee Walls

Robert Lee Walls, Sr. was born on August 1, 1945 to the late Samuel Walls and Dorothy Bardges in Blythedale, Pennsylvania. Robert affectionately known as “Sonny” peacefully passed onto his eternal rest on Monday, April 1, 2024 with his wife Marcy Walls at his bedside. Robert graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in active duty and the reserves from 1965 - 1969. After he was honorably discharged from the Navy, he was employed as a steel worker in the Shenango Steel Mill. After his retirement from the steel mill, he was hired as a maintenance worker at the US Steel Building. Robert married Darlene Jones April 19, 1968, and to this union one son and two daughters were born. On Valentine’s Day February 14, 1997, he was united in marriage to Marcy Sloan Livingston at the Christ Missionary Baptist Church. Robert enjoyed biking, driving through the countryside, and working out. However, we dare not leave out his love for music which earned him his stage name “DJ Cross”. Robert was preceded in death by his brother, James Anthony Rockymore, his “second mother” Miss Inez, and three brothers-in-law, Berkley Bailey, Jacob Walker, and Reginald Mayhew. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Marcy Walls; one son, Robert “BJ” Walls, Jr. (Michele) of Morgantown, WVA; two daughters, Keysha Walker (Otis) of Pittsburgh, PA, Karen Walls (Prentiss) of Camden, NJ; five brothers, Stanley Kelly (Zell), Alfred Rockymore (Pam), Leon Rockymore (Lezetta), Johnny Rockymore (Gale), all of Pittsburgh, PA and Clarence Rockymore (Tracey) of Florida; six sisters, Alice Walls of Ohio, Dorothy Bailey, Mary Walker, Linda Rockymore (William Yeager), Cynthia Mayhew, all of Pittsburgh, PA, and Brenda Rockymore of Detroit, MI; three step-children, LaVada Glaze (Daryl), Elder David Livingston, Jr., and Sonja Murphy (Perry) all of Pittsburgh, PA; seventeen grandchildren, five great grandchildren; his loyal caregiver, Jason Nunley; and a host of other relatives and friends
