Richard Earl Burchette was born on December 11, 1960, in Pittsburgh, PA to Jacqueline Jones and Richard E. Dehonney. Richard was called home to his eternal rest on September 26, 2024.
Richard, or "Ricky" or "Pretty Ricky" as he was more affectionately known to his family and close friends, was raised along with his three siblings Scarlet, Danyullia, and Donald in the Garfield Neighborhood in the City of Pittsburgh. He matriculated through the Penn Hills District School System graduating in 1979. He went on to receive his welder's certification. He maintained various employment opportunities including being a nursing assistant for a long-time client.
His greatest life accomplishment was the blessed birth of his twins Dorian Lee and Diane Natashia. Ricky was a loving, kind and big-hearted person who would give you the shirt off his back. He was known for his good looks and keen sense of fashion, thus the name "Pretty Ricky". He was a momma's boy and loved his momma dearly. He shared many funny and fond memories with his family, especially during the holidays. His niece recalled how he loved singing and massaging the turkey as he prepared to cook it upside down and how it ended up being the best juiciest turkey ever!
Ricky occasionally attended church services with his Mom at Petra International Ministries. He especially enjoyed the praise and worship service.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children Dorian L. Burchette and Diane N. Burchette-Helenkamp (Shay); his grandson, Christian M. Burchette; his mother, Jacqueline Jones; his sisters, Scarlet McNeal (Geno) and Danyullia McGlory; his brother Donald Jones; his nieces Ashley N. Burchette and Diana McGlory; his nephews, Dion McGlory and Jace C. Jones; many great and great-great nieces and nephews, in addition to a host of other relatives and friends.
