Quaylyn Carter, Jr. Obituary

Quaylyn Omar Carter, Jr., affectionately known to many as "Q," was born on November 17, 2003, in Jeannette, Pennsylvania to his loving parents, Carrie Hainesworth and Quaylyn Carter, Sr. He departed this life on November 4, 2025.

Quaylyn was a 2022 graduate of Gateway High School, where he excelled academically and was admired by his peers. After graduation, he planned to attend trade school and often spoke passionately about his dream of becoming a successful business owner. One of his greatest visions was to build a family compound on a large piece of land where his loved ones could gather and grow together.

A hardworking young man, Quaylyn was employed as an Amazon driver and worked as a DoorDash delivery driver. His strong work ethic and determination reflected is desire to create a better future for himself and his family.

Quaylyn was deeply spiritual and spent much of his free time studying and exploring his spiritual journey. He was also a proud Steelers fan, an enthusiastic cook, and very intentional about the foods he ate. He loved nature and often encouraged others to "put your feet in the grass," believing that connecting with the earth brought inner peace and clarity. Family was everything to Quaylyn. He shared a special bond with his younger brother, Amare, and loved spending time with his sisters, Tienna ("TT") and Callie. He spoke with his mother, Carrie, several times a day and cherished his father, Quaylyn Sr., dearly. Known for his kind and loyal heart, he was a devoted son, brother, cousin, and friend-always looking out for those he loved.

Quaylyn was in the process of a citizenship procedure, dedicated to reclaiming the identity and heritage that colonization once tried to erase. His determination and depth of purpose were an inspiration to everyone who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Carrie Hainsworth; father, Quaylyn Carter, Sr.; brother, Amare Carter; sisters, Tienna Carter and Callie Hainesworth; grandmothers, Darlene Hainesworth; grandfathers, Kevin Hainesworth and Solomen Boswell; aunts, Erica Adams, Sharlee Hainesworth, Tanya Boswell, Brittany Hainesworth, Alisha Aiken, and Kayla Kizzie; uncles, Taurus Blannon, Patric Greene, Christian Trump, Kerry Kizzie, Jr., Michael Kizzie and Tevan Hainesworth; and his many cousins, great-aunts, great-uncles, and godparents who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Nana, Charlene Blannon, with whom he shared a close and loving relationship. Quaylyn's bright spirit, compassionate heart, and gentle wisdom will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
