Preston Portis

Preston Portis was born on August 14, 1962, in Clarksville Alabama. He was the son of Rosie May Hannon and Jamie Lee Portis. He attended and graduated from the Clarke County High School in Grove Hill, Alabama. He moved to Pittsburgh and was employed at the University of Pittsburgh. Preston met and married the late Thomasine Portis and together they raised 6 children.

On March 20, 2022, Preston departed this life for life eternal. He leaves to cherish his memory, 4 children Vanessa, Melissa, Rosemary & Deandre Portis, Alonzo and Arthur Johnson, and Thomasine Locke; 4 grandchildren, Jordan, Nahlani, Ziyah, and Zionna; 9 siblings- Barbara, Sarah, Linda, Leon, Daimon, Nathan, Dealphine, Hiawatha, Sue; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and many friends. Preston was a peaceful loving hardworking selfless man, he loved music, fishing, traveling, cookouts, his cars and spending time with family and friends. He would do anything for anyone if he could, Preston was full of life love, and laughter and seen the good in everyone when no one else did. His smile his laugh his energy was one of a kind. We couldn’t have asked for a better man to call our dad, brother, friend etc. Sadly, to say heaven couldn’t wait for you, it will never be goodbye but see you later. We love you & you will truly be missed
