Phillip "RYAN" Alexander was born on June 24,1987 in Pittsburgh, PA. at Magee Women’s hospital to Michael Davis and Gwendolyn Alexander. He was more commonly known as Ryan.
Ryan came into this world as a premature baby weighing only 3 pounds 1 ounce. He lived with his loving grandmother Beatrice Davis and his father Michael Davis in Wilkinsburg, PA. Ryan graduated from the Western Pennsylvania School for the Blind in June of 2008 where he learned a lot of life skills.
A pivotal moment in Ryan’s life came when his father and grandmother passed away. He was then placed in the care of Mainstay Life Services where he resided in Penn Hills, PA with his two loving roommates, Kevin and Jamie. He received excellent care from many caregivers for 20 plus years. No matter life’s challenges, Ryan enjoyed playing with his clackers. Everyone knew the sound of his clackers meant he was happy, and he could even do three at a time. One in both hands and one in his mouth. No one could beat him when it came to his clackers. He enjoyed various outings to sporting events, trips to the park, car rides and he loved a variety of music. Also, his favorite hockey team was the Islanders. His infectious smile would make anyone melt, especially the ladies. His alltime favorite thing was enjoying a meal. If you weren't watching him closely, he would steal your plate before you knew it. It was gone! Everyone who came into his life fell in love with him, especially his caregivers and friends at Mainstay.
Our dear Ryan fell asleep in death on May 28, 2023, at Canterbury Place where they made his last days very comfortable. His gentle and kind nature will truly be missed. His example of endurance and perseverance will be imitated by all who knew and loved him.
Ryan is preceded in death by his father Michael Davis, his grandmother Beatrice Davis, his grandfather Robert Jones, his grandmother Alice Jones, and his roommate Kevin. He leaves to cherish his memory, Gwendolyn Dixon (mother), Brandon Alexander (brother), Ayonna Verse (sister), Michael Davis Jr. (brother), John Davis (uncle), James Davis (uncle), Jamie (roommate) as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, caregivers and many close friends.
