Paulette T. Moody, 72, was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She left this physical world to embark on her spiritual journey on August 23, 2024.
Paulette was born September 7, 1951, to James E. Threatt and Ruth V. Threatt, in
Pittsburgh‘s Hill District. The proud Schenley High School alum devoted her life to
helping people in her community. Paulette developed life-long friendships and bonds
with people she worked side by side with for decades, as both a field representative for
a local law firm, and as a well-known sales associate for Macy’s.
In the early 1980s, Paulette met her husband, (Wayne E. Moody) while they worked as
bartenders at The Crazy Quilt and The Squawkers Club in Downtown Pittsburgh. Those
nightclubs were a popular hangout for the Steelers; and as the story goes, Wayne had
to stand up to Ernie “Fats” Holmes who came into the bar during Paulette’s shift,
demanding another drink. Wayne survived the confrontation and the rest was history.
Paulette and Wayne are proud parents to their two children together, (Erica A. Moody
and Morgan K. Moody) and one grandson (Carter J. Wesley.)
Paulette is survived by Wayne’s eldest daughter, (Charisse Day and her husband Eric
Day and family.)
Paulette was the bossy older sister of (Mignon Threatt and James M. Threatt.) She was
an encouraging cousin to (Debra Coleman, Lonnie Traylor, Timothy Holt Sr., Shawn
Traylor, Lamont Tomman Sr. and Tamara Tomman, and family.) Survived by her aunt
(Cora Traylor,) her uncle (Alonzo Traylor and his wife Sandi Traylor.)
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 4, 2024 at St. Benedict the
Moor Church in the Hill District. Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 11:00 AM with a mass
to immediately follow.
