Paula Lynette Davis Reed was received into eternal life on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. where she peacefully transitioned this life amongst family to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Paula was born on November 19, 1942, becoming the sixth child of the late William and Dorothy Louise Davis. Paula was greeted in eternity by eight siblings: (four sisters) Karen McCauley, Bette Davis, Joyce Randolph, Yvonne Davis; (three brothers) William, James and Louis Davis.
Paula, lovingly known as (Patsy), graduated Rankin High School in 1960. She was united in Marriage in 1962 to the love of her life, the late Stanley Reed where they resided in Hazelwood, PA for many wonderful years. From this union they conceived two beautiful and bright children~ Alexis Yvette Reed of Verona, PA, and Stanley MK Reed of Bethesda, MD.
Paula was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Hazelwood, where she served faithfully for many years before becoming a member of Petra International Ministries where she avidly studied the word of God and remained faithful until the end. Living a Christ centered life was a guiding principle of all she did. Her life was lived serving others exemplified by having worked for Early Learning Childhood Center, several youth and childcare organizations, A Woman's Touch, as well as her community. In additional, she volunteered at several food banks, served as an election Poll worker and was a member of the Harriet Tubman Guild.
Paula was a caretaker and friend you could rely on when in need. She was devoted to the neighborhood children as fiercely as her own, a true mama bear. Paula's generosity and love language was beautifully demonstrated through acts of service. She spoke her mind unapologetically, but equally gave of her heart just as compassionately. She was present whether you were sick, in the hospital, needed nursing, pet sitting, house sitting or when she just needed a personal staycation. Her love could be felt.
She had a fantastic memory for details, loved music, laughter, word puzzles, crafting and teaching her granddaughter how to sew. She could iron like nobody's business... never a wrinkle to be found. She was a help meet woven into the very fabric of our family and every life that she touched. Paula leaves to cherish her memory and legacy: daughter- Alexis Reed, son-Stanley Reed, seven grandchildren: Clifton Reed, Chakarian Reed, Andre Anthony, Austin Reed, Symone Williams, Jayla Frink, and Aiden Reed; two great grandchildren; Andre Anthony Jr., and Silas Reed, a devoted baby sister, Kizetta Vaughn and sister-friend Annette Wallace and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
