Patricia Ann (Morris) Nicklos was born August 29, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA to the
late Charles and Juanita (Mack) Morris.
She passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024, at the age of 84. A lifelong
resident of Pittsburgh, Patricia was a woman of deep faith, love, and
compassion, whose presence brought light to all who knew her.
Patricia is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Richard W. Nicklos, her
sons Richard R. J. Nicklos and Eric S. Nicklos, her daughter-in-law Solveig A.
Nicklos, her beloved granddaughter London T. Nicklos, her brother Pastor
Charles E. Morris Sr, sister-in-law Pastor Margaret M. Morris, sister-in-law Lee B.
Nicklos, nieces Rae E. Nicklos, Charlotte E. Mathis, Tisha A. Stratford, nephew
Charles E. Morris III, and many beloved cousins. Her family was her pride and
joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
In her early years, Patricia was valedictorian of the 1958 graduating class at Fifth
Avenue High School, and member of the National Honor Society. Her
professional career began with one of the few black law firms in the US at that
time, Jones, Smith & Freeland before working for Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Her passion for social justice led her to be actively involved in the historic 1972
Presidential Campaign of Shirley Chisholm. Patricia’s commitment to equality
and change inspired many in her community.
Baptized in July 1974, she was a dedicated and faithful Jehovah's Witness
Patricia served as a pioneer for many years, devoting her life to her faith and
ministry. She found strength and purpose in her religious work, touching the
hearts of those she encountered in her field service.
Patricia’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on forever in the hearts of her
family, Christian friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to have known
her.
