Patricia "Patsy" Johnson, 74 of Monroeville, PA; passed away peacefully on June 26, 2021, at Forbes Hospital with her family at her side. She was born to the late John Collins, Sr. and Juanita Stevenson on November 24, 1946, in Chester PA. Patricia graduated from Chester High School then she received a B.A. in secondary education from Wilberforce University. While attending school, she met her late husband Russell Johnson. On August 27, 1970 in Chester, PA, after graduating from Wilberforce they were united in holy matrimony. They have lived together in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania January 3, 1976, and August 3, 1980 respectfully, she welcomed her two daughters, who were a very important part of her life.
Patricia joined Mount Ararat Baptist Church in the early 1980s after visiting numerous churches in the Pittsburgh area. As a member, she sang in the young adult choir, assisted with the drill team and other youth organizations her daughters participated in. For many devoted and faithful years, she worked as the childcare director at the Homewood-Brushton YMCA until retiring in 2007. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Janet Collins. She leaves to mourn her loss: her daughters Alyssa "Liessa" Johnson and Erica Johnson-Carter, brothers John Collins Jr., and Theodore "Ted" Collins, brother-in-law Stanford "Porky" Johnson, sister-in-law Toni Johnson, son-in-law Vince Carter, granddaughter Gia Carter and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
