Pastor Yvonne Pope

Pastor Yvonne Laverne Herbin-Pope was born on November 1, 1951 to Edward Herbin and Doris Guy-Herbin in Greensboro, North Carolina. Pastor Pope was educated in the Greensboro School District. After graduation she attended the College of New Rochelle, New York. Yvonne (Mom) met David Hickman in Greensboro North Carolina in 1960. They were childhood sweethearts, they grew up together and had later they had 7 children. Tonya Herbin, Sonia Herbin-Daley, David Herbin (Deceased), Stepfone Herbin (Deceased) Mohammad Herbin, Tina Pope, and Christopher Pope. Mama had a beautiful voice and was a choir director for Unity Prince of Peace in Brooklyn, New York where she was a missionary. Pastor Pope was ordained a pastor in July of 2003 by Bishop Rice at Bishop Memorial Mission Church in Brooklyn, New York. She later obtained her Doctrine in Divinity license 2010. On April 1, 2021, Departed this life for life eternal. Mama was taken from us too soon however she will be with her father Edward Herbin, her mother Doris Herbin, her sons, David (Junebug) and Stepfone (Little Man), her sister Barbara, Robert (Uncle), Bessie (Aunt), Robert (Nephew), Nathanial (Nephew), Marguerite (Mother in law), Jacqueline (Sister in law) and the rest of our ancestors.

Yvonne (Mom), leaves behind, 5 children, Tonya, Sonia, Mohammad, Tina, and Christopher; 14 grandchildren, Gregory, Mohammad Jr., Tanashia, Tyrell, Syiria, Stephone, Shabrea, Areiyah, Melannie, Kayla, Bruce Jr., Luvaisha, Liam, Christopher Jr.; 8 Great grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Julien, Kaylee, Asmara, Layla, Kaylynn, and Madonna Marie and 1 unborn great grandchild; 3 nieces Jacqueline, Latrice, Ebony, 2 nephews, Kareem, Nathanial Jr.; 3 son in laws., Kirk Daley, Nathaniel Wells, Pernell Sythertt and a host of prayer warriors, church family and friends that loved her dearly. Mama will be deeply missed by all us.
