Nena was born on December 24, 1954, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Betty Constance Brown and the late Nathan Carl Brown. She was a beautiful, happy baby full of life and personality. Nena was a joy to her mother and father.
Betty met Joseph Frank Chatman in 1964 and they married in 1979. Joe raised Nena as his own child and she loved him dearly.
Nena graduated from Wilkinsburg High School. She worked at Shadyside Hospital for 30 years before she retired in 2017. She loved her job and everyone there loved her. She made many longtime friends.
Nena enjoyed dancing and listening to music.. She was an avid Steelers fan; she cooked Sunday mornings so dinner and her special snacks were done and she could watch football. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Marvin (Chippy) as she fondly called him and Camryn Elizabeth (her namesake). Her family was very important to her. Nena loved to travel to Las Vegas yearly to enjoy the city. A handful of times she came back with her winnings and wouldn't tell us how much.
On Friday, December 27, 2019, Nena suddenly departed this life for life eternal. She was preceded in death by the man of her life, who was her best friend and confidant.
She leaves cherished memories to her mother, Betty Constance Brown; two beautiful children, Desiree Lanett Brown Harris and Kenneth Glenn Dixon, Jr; two grandchildren, Marvin Lloyd II and Camryn Elizabeth Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
