Nathaniel Joshua Wells

Nathaniel Joshua Wells, affectionately known as Nate, was born on January 25, 1971, to Shirley Johnson. At the age of nine, he was welcomed with open arms into the Wells family, where he was lovingly adopted - a moment that forever shaped his life and the deep bonds he cherished.

In his twenties, Nate made the life-changing decision to give his life to Christ, anchoring himself in faith and carrying that spiritual foundation with him in the years that followed.

Nate had a warm personality, a big heart, and a presence that made people feel seen and valued. He loved sports - especially cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers - and he remained a lifelong Michael Jordan fan. Whether he was talking sports, sharing a story, or offering a helping hand, Nate brought laughter, comfort, and genuine connection to everyone around him.

For many years, Nate worked at Mac’s Car Service, where he served hundreds of clients with dedication and kindness. Many of those clients became friends, and many of those friends became like family. Nate had a gift for forming bonds that lasted.

Nate was especially close to his nephews Gator, Marcus, and Justin, who held a special place in his heart. He loved them deeply and took great pride in the men they were becoming.

Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Adam Wells II; his brothers, Walter Wells, Phillip Wells, Adam “Ched” Wells III, Daniel Wells, and Solomon Wells; his sisters, Alene Boea, Angy Dixon, and Monique Massie; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Nate’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and faith. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit, his humor, and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
