Nathan McAllister, Jr. was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 17, 1960. He was the second child of ten children born to the late Bishop Nathan and First Lady Gloria McAllister.
Nathan grew up with his siblings in the projects in the Garfield section of Pittsburgh and attended the Pittsburgh Public Schools until his family were blessed to purchase their first home in Wilkinsburg, PA. He then enrolled in the Wilkinsburg School District where he graduated in 1978.
Nathan was a creative and deep-thinking child whose vision for his family’s future consisted of the McAllister’s Estate where all of his siblings were both educated and lived very wealthy lives. Even though his family struggled financially and often times there was only “Tea & Toast” available to eat, Nathan’s vision came alive when he would gather his brothers and sisters together and tell stories for hours and hours at a time about how they one day would be successful business owners and never want for anything. These stories released a force of faith that caused his siblings to catch to his dream for his family.
In 1987, Nathan met and married Robin Walden McAllister and to this union two beautiful daughters, Brittnay and Natalie, was born. Nathan loved and adored his daughters and admired his grandchildren. Sadly, in 1992, Nathan and Robin parted ways, however, loving parents in their own way.
He was a member of the Greater Bethlehem Temple Church, 404 Paulson Avenue, under the pastorate of the late Bishop F.M. Thomas. After his father became pastor, Nathan transferred his membership to the Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church of Duquesne to assist his father and mother. Nathan was a musically gifted musician who wrote many songs and designed computerized programs that would assist those who desired to play the piano. At the time of his death, he had finally completed a brilliant program that was sure to a prosperous endeavor.
