Pastor Mathai C. Mannucheril (Achankunju) was born on April 3, 1944, in Vengal, Kerala, India. He was the youngest son of Cheriyan and Mariamma Mannucheril. He was born and raised in an Orthodox Christian family. At a young age, he was kicked out of his home as he accepted Jesus as his personal savior. He used to preach the gospel in his neighborhood using a megaphone. He was able to get a government job after completing High School. At the age of 24, he resigned from his job at Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) and went to Zion Bible College, Mulakkuzha, Kerala, and became a full-time Christian minister. He has planted churches in the Northern part of India like Bihar, Orissa, Dehli, and Andaman-Nicobar islands. He also did his theological training at Southern Asia Bible College, Bangalore.
In 1997 Pastor Mathai migrated to the United States and lived in different states including Alaska and preached the gospel.
He also has written many gospel tracts in English and Hindi, He is survived by his wife, Thankama Mathew. He has three children, the oldest being, Shiji George (Delhi, India), and her husband George have three children Joys George, Joshua George, and Jessy George. His second son Mr. Talent Mathew (Houston, TX), and his wife Blessy Talent, have one son Dany Talent Mathew. Pastor Mannucheril's younger son, Mr. Reward Mathai (Pittsburgh, PA), and his wife Feby Reward have two children, Nathaneal Reward and Hannah Reward.
