Mary Louise Murray was born to Nathan and Elle Faye Cohen on July 8, 1932 in Duncan, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
She married Howard "Penny" Murray on May 15, 1948 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Later that same year, they moved to Pittsburgh, PA where they settled in the Hazelwood community. Ten children were born from this union. Penny affectionately nicknamed Louise "Hot Rod" after a race they had down Second Avenue!
Louise joined St. John the Evangelist Baptist Church and was an active member of the choir and nurse ministry. She held her membership with St. John until 2010 when she transferred to Second Baptist Church in McKees Rocks, Pa where her son, Rev. Michael Murray is the Pastor.
Louise worked for the Pittsburgh Public School system and the H.J Heinz Company.
She is proceeded in death by her devoted husband, Howard Murray, Sr. and son, Sterling Murray, 1 brother, Joseph Cohen, and 2 sisters Geraldine Cohen and Juanita Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory, 3 daughters- Deacon Veronica Edwards, Gladys Murray McCoy and Mona Lisa Murray- 6 sons and their wives,Willie Sr. and Dawn Murray, Michael Sr. and Adelle Murray, DeWayne Murray, Rev. Anthony and Karen Murray, Howard and Ernestine Murray, Gilbert and Phyllis Murray, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildrenm nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
