Mary Williams Obituary

Mary E. Williams was born on May 21, 1932, in Pittsburgh PA as the third child to Andrew Cleophus Muldrow and Lucinda Preston Muldrow. Mary graduated from this life to Glory on January 11, 2025.
Mary was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School system. She received a certificate from Connolly Trade School in Pittsburgh Pa in Culinary Arts. Mary was a Hardy Bible School, Pittsburgh, Pa, graduate.
In the early 1950's Mary met Calvin "Red" Lester and was united with him in matrimony and from this union five children were born. In 1998 Mary was united in matrimony to John Edward Williams.
Mary was a stay-at-home mother for many years. Her home was a home of peace, love and hospitality. She was employed at the Kossman building cleaning offices before she became a cook using her culinary skills in several establishments in the city of Pittsburgh. In the late seventies she worked as a Home Health Aide until the late eighties when she became a Nanny until she retired in 2015.
Mary accepted Jesus as a very young child at Grace Memorial Presbyterian Church.
She rededicated her life in Nineteen Seventy-Seven and became a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was an active member for many years. She was part of the Prayer Band. They would go to Nursing Homes to pray for the sick and shut in.
She would later join her daughter's ministry A Safe Place Ministry. She was very dedicated and supportive to this Ministry. She was faithful in her service to her Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. She was a woman of prayer, faith, and the Word of God.
Mary loved to travel. Her most memorable trip is when she went to Jerusalem, Rome, and Greece.
Mary was a safe place, she was a mother, friend confidant, mentor, and teacher to family and extended family. She loved her family and would do whatever she could to make sure they were alright. She raised her children and taught by example. She taught them to be good citizens, to stay out of trouble, to love hard, work hard, play hard and most importantly to pray hard.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory her children Apostle Mona White, Calvin Lester Ill, LaMar Lester, Eric Lester, Bernadette Lester. Fourteen grandchildren, Twenty-Five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Two brothers Charles and Stanley Muldrow. Many bonus sons, daughters, and grandchildren.
