Mary Elizabeth Jones ( Banks ) was born to the late Charles L. Banks and
Corella M. Banks on July 24th, 1929. She departed this earthly life on
March 6, 2026.
Mary was married to John Jones they had four children, Winifred, Alfred,
Barbara and Karen. Later in life she partnered with Charles Finn a
relationship filled with happiness.
John Jones, Charles Finn, son, Alfred Jones, sister Myrtle Banks and
brother Leon Giles (Banks) have all preceded her in death.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Winifred, Barbara and Karen, three
grandchildren, Robin, Johnny and Jamie. Six great grandsons, Gregory,
Tyler, Solomon, Elliott, Jaden and Silas. Three great, great grandchildren,
Atum, Grayson and Aliya. A special niece Sharon Banks and nephew
Clarence Banks. Including nephews Antonio and Christopher with nieces
Deanna and Leona, from her brother Leon Giles (Banks).
Thank you to the following people.To her kindhearted, affectionate and
devoted grandson—Johnny. To her warmhearted and very concerned
granddaughter—Jamie. To her daughter-in-law, Donna who was caring and
supportive. To her reassuring, comforting and compassionate first born
granddaughter Robin, whom she lovingly named at birth, shaping her early
years with tenderness and devotion. In return, Robin carries forever the
blessing of knowing her loving Grandma as her Gigi! To her bonus son
James Bullock for support, loyalty and the kindest affection. To her bonus
daughter Karen Morris (Trixie) for their caring support and joyful presence.
To each one of her care givers for their warm and professional assistance.
Mary attended the Pittsburgh Public Schools and the University of
Pittsburgh. She was employed by Magee Womens Hospital for 40 years as
a Histologist. While highly regarded performing special stain biopsies with
excellence.
She also, traveled to Walter Reed National Military Hospital in Bethesda,
MD., where her exceptional skills were requested.
Mary loved the Lord serving under the leadership of the late Bishop Loran
E. Mann. She was also inspired by the late Pastor Jimmy Swaggart.
