Mary Alice Bell

Mary Alice Bell peacefully went home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2026, after a brief illness. Surrounded by her loving sons and daughters in her last days, Mary Alice's passing marked an end to a life filled with faith, love, and devotion. Mary Alice was born in Midland, Pennsylvania, on March 21, 1935, to Leroy Bell and Georgia Ellis Willis, the ninth of twelve children. During her life, she worked as a cook, an elementary school lunch aide, and a homemaker.

Mary Alice enjoyed cooking and baking the favorite foods of her family and friends to express her love for them. She loved God and gospel music and was a devoted member of the church choir. Although she did not believe she was a good singer, she loved to sing her favorite gospel songs. Mary Alice has been a devoted member of Rodman Street Baptist Church for over thirty years. She always shared her wisdom and love of God with all that she encountered. We will all miss her warm smile and kind, generous heart, but are comforted knowing that she is singing in God's heavenly choir.

Mary Alice was preceded in death by her mother and father (Georgia Ella and Leroy Bell), her six brothers (Lee Roy Bell, Edward Bell, George Vick Bell, Joe Alex Bell, Arvin Bell, Charlie Bell) and five sisters (Maggie Mae Vaughn, Clara Washington, Henrietta Curry, Elizabeth Bell, Justyne Curry). Mourning her loss are six loving children: Michele West (Larry), (Virginia), Linda Bell (Virginia), Shrina Bell (Pennsylvania), Corey Bell (New Jersey); brother-in-law Rev. Thomas Curry; devoted niece Carol Hauser, lifelong friends Gertrude Dawson and Lennie Bee as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

In celebrating Mary Alice's life, we honor her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to God. Though she may have physically departed from us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Lastly but most importantly, Mary Alice had an intimate, loving and committed relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She shared her faith and love of God to all she encountered throughout her life.
