MARSHALL LINWOOD RIDLEY I, was born in Humboldt, Tennessee on January 5, 1943. He was born to Sarah Jewel Ridley (Burnette) and Bealie Raymond Ridley.
He attended Fisk University, joined the Navy in January 1962 and was Honorably Discharged by June 1966. He married Vivian Elaine Ridley (Evans), December 1964 and they had three children: Carmen Ray, Valerie Camille and Marshall L. Ridley II (m. Archanna C. Ridley). He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in May 1969, from Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee.
He worked as a traveling salesman for Stauffer Chemical Company for many years that moved him from Humboldt, Tennessee, to Buffalo, NY; to Pittsburgh, PA; then to Cleveland, Ohio. Marshall moved back to Pittsburgh in 1985 and married his current wife, Edith Smith-Ridley, November 1986. He became a proud step-father to her two children Michael H. Smith and Marlene Smith-Amaker.
He owned and operated his own “Kitchen and Bath Design” company located in Pittsburgh, PA. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, traveling internationally, was an avid reader, playing golf, fishing and taking pictures with his many different cameras and lens.
At 12:27 am on January 19, 2026, Marshall took his last breath and departed this earthly life for eternal life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Jewel Ridley in 2011; his father Bealie Raymond Ridley in 1996.
He leaves behind his wife, Edith Smith-Ridley (Michael Smith and Marlene Smith-Amaker); his children Carmen Ray Ridley, Valerie Camille May (Ridley), Marshall Linwood Ridley II; his ex-wife Vivian Elaine Ridley of Cleveland, Ohio, grandchildren, Xavian Hunter Ridley, Marshall Linwood Ridley III, Valencia Azarrae Ridley, Aubrey Taylor Ridley; his 2 great grandchildren, Caleb and Caden Ridley, his Uncle James Ridley and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends.
