Mark P. Guinn

Mark P. Guinn was born on February 19, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Philemon and Edith Guinn. On October 23, 2025, Mark peacefully departed this life at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a kind, caring, and thoughtful man whose presence brought warmth and light to everyone he encountered. Mark was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School System and later earned a basketball scholarship to Temple University. He went on to complete his Bachelor of Arts degree at Point Park University. Throughout his professional career, Mark worked diligently in the health insurance industry, specializing in Medicare hospital auditing during his many years with Blue Cross of Western Pennsylvania. He later continued his work in insurance sales, where his integrity and professionalism left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. A true sports enthusiast, Mark loved both playing and watching the games. He enjoyed tennis and basketball and was an avid fan of basketball, baseball, and football. Beyond sports, Mark was a passionate jazz enthusiast who appreciated the rhythm and soul of the music he loved so dearly. Mark leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and supportive wife of 45 years, Sandra; his two loving daughters, Michele Guinn and Rita Bankhead; and his grandsons, Shemsu and Zoser Parks, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Stephen Guinn, and sister-in-law, Audrey Guinn; two nephews, four nieces, and a host of great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Mark will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His gentle spirit, kind heart, and friendly personality will remain forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to share in his life.
