Margaret "Peggy" Brown was born on August 13, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was one of seven children born to the late Harold and Ruth West.
Margaret attended the Pittsburgh Public School system and graduated from Westinghouse High School. She was a very talented and gifted young lady who always presented herself with elegance and grace as she was proud to have attended charm school.
Margaret had a love for cooking and teaching family and friends how to cook. She enjoyed spending quality time with he family, traveling, and cruises. She was very creative and resourceful with a fix for every situation. She was self-sufficient and carried almost everything in her purse.
Margaret was employed at UPMC Presby in the dietary department and later transferred to the medical records department.
She had a love for cats, and gardening and grew plants, cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, and whatever else she could get her hands on. Her favorite color was red and every outfit looked fabulous on her.
Margaret departed this life on October 8, 2023. She was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Elaine Washington, and sister-in-law, Candace West.
She is survived by her son, Larry "Dude" Brown II, and daughter, Marcia "CeCe" Brown, and 5 grandkids, Shakira Brown, Martell Reed, Eriys Reed, Larry Brown III, and Leland Brown. 1 great-grandchild Riah Dior Pittman, former husband, Larry Brown Sr. Daughter-in-law, Samantha Brown, 2 brothers, twins Harold and Darrel West, 3 sisters Darlene Brower, Melanie Willoughby, Eileen West-Hector, 1 brother-in-law Michael Willoughby and 1 sister-in-law Darlene West and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
