Born in Pittsburgh, PA, on March 23, 1998, Malcolm Isaiah Nowlin entered this world as the cherished son of Malcolm Edward Nowlin and the late Wanda Eugenia Pearl Nowlin. His faith in the Lord was a guiding force in his life, and he found great joy in sharing it with those around him, often through his love of gospel music.
From an early age, Malcolm's journey was marked by education and community. He began at Dilworth Preschool, attended Penn Hebron Elementary, and graduated from Penn Hills High School. His academic achievements culminated with a Business Degree from Duquesne University.
Malcolm was a man of many passions. He loved to dance, was always quick with a kind word, and possessed an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. Known for his fearless and courageous nature, he was a natural leader, never one to follow. His bright smile lit up any room, and his infectious humor brought joy to everyone he met.
As a big brother, Malcolm was attentive and caring, always looking out for his siblings and those he loved. He had a deep compassion for others and never hesitated to check in on their well-being. His svelte appearance belied his hearty appetite; he was known to enjoy just about any meal placed before him.
Malcolm's love for basketball was a lifelong passion. He played throughout grade school and represented Basketball Stars of America in high school. Another of his favorite pastimes was riding rollercoasters- he never shied away from the thrill.
Impeccably groomed, Malcolm was rarely seen without a fresh haircut, with his edges always perfectly lined. To many, he was like Norm from Cheers- wherever he went, everyone knew his name.
Malcolm is survived by his father, Malcolm E. Nowlin, and stepmother, Keyne K. Johnson-Nowlin; his siblings, Talisa Janee Nowlin, Mikayla Janelle Nowlin, and Jonathan Israel Nowlin; and his stepbrothers, carson Davis Wicker and Harrison Drew Wicker. He is also survived by his godparents, Robert and Kim Thornton, and Lalisa Fulwylie, Girlfriend, Tanasia Henderson-Gunn, along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Wanda Eugenia Pearl Nowlin, and his grandparents, Prince Edward and Darlan Nowlin, and Walter and Mildred Smith, as well as his Uncle Brent and Aunt Beverly.
Malcolm's presence, joy, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
