Luther Logan III Obituary

Luther Logan III, (August 28th, 1933 – February 10, 2026) A truly loving and caring father to his daughters Beatrice Logan, Janet (Logan) Gray, and Anita Upshaw, and to his son Louis Logan. Never knowing the word sacrifice when it came to making sure each one had whatever they needed, whenever they needed it. Never considering himself generous or charitable, just being who he was and doing what he did, purely out of love.

That love continued to be exhibited onto his grandchildren, Lance Logan, Leah (Gray) Jefferson. Kiara Logan, and Ramond Upshaw. Being an active and influential part of their lives in their formative years which continued
throughout. They were a blessing in his life as much as he hoped he was a blessing in theirs. Pride in being a Great Grandfather, and even a Great-Great Grandfather was beyond his expectations.

Luther grew up in a home with his close and loving family starting with his father Luther Logan Jr., his mother Eddie (Ada) (Hicks) Logan, along with his siblings Elise Logan, Mattie (Logan) Martin, Effie (Logan) Harp and Fred Logan. Undoubtedly, this is where Luther developed his appreciation for the love of family that he continued into his adult life and that he passed on to his children.

Luther was more than a family man, much more. Everything he did, he did exceptionally well. From a young age it was obvious he had the potential to become a great artist. Looking at his drawings or paintings, it was apparent his talent could have been unlimited. Had this been during a different time, his talents may have been fully recognized, and there is no way of knowing where it could have taken him.

He could build, repair or do almost anything he put his mind to. His house gave him the opportunity to add more accomplishments to his list. He enjoyed the challenge of fixing, changing, and learning new skills that he could develop. He liked challenging himself, and if it didn’t work, he would take it down and start over again, until it was just the way he wanted it. The challenges and the successes are what he enjoyed, and the end result gave him a great sense of pride.

He worked hard all his life to the fullest and was able to achieve everything he wanted. He made the most out of every moment and opportunity. Enjoying wonderful friendships that lasted for his entire life. Always taking great pride in his appearance, Luther was respected and admired by everyone who knew him. Proud but not prideful. His generous and compassionate nature were two of many things that made him such a special person.
