Lillie Bell Hawkins

People come into your path for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Lillie Bell Hawkins came into our path for a season. On March 8, 2023, Lillie departed her earthly home to live with her Father in his Heavenly mansion. She peacefully transitioned into eternal rest at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Lillie Bell was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Ida Bell and Booker Person. She is proceeded in death by her three siblings, Anna Marie Epps, Helen May Bell, and Booker Person, Sr.

She was a faithful member of New Grace Missionary Baptist Church/First Gallie Church and remained a member active until her brief illness. She was the longest surviving original member of New Grace Missionary Baptist Church serving as Head of the Pastors Aid, as well as Head of the Usher Board and Deaconess. Lillie Bell also worked at the Vintage, as well as the Department of Aging as a sitter for the elderly.

Lillie Bell was also a Past Worthy Matron of Myra Chapter No.110, Omega Grand Chapter, Order Eastern Star, affiliated with Hiram Grand Lodge, A.F. and A.M., State of Pennsylvania. She served as Worthy Matron from 1985-1987.

She loved her only son Jesse, her family, Pastor & Sister Watts and their family, and her extended church family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Jesse Williams (Akron, OH), sister-in-law Myrtle Person, (Akron, OH) special granddaughter Kimberly Spears (Vince) McNatt, (Columbus, OH), special niece, Rev. Dr. Rachel Stephens, (Willard, NC) special grandson Collin McNatt, (Columbus, OH), stepson, Dwight Hawkins, special friends Barbara Herring and Wayne Boykin (Akron, OH) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Lillie Bell will be missed by all who knew her. We as a family bow in humble submission to an Almighty God knowing that He never makes a mistake and that our beloved Lillie Bell is now in His care
