Leslie T. Coles, Sr.

Leslie ‘Todd’ Coles was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 25, 1969, to Velma (Coles) Jordan and Maurice Brown.

Todd attended Park Place and Regent Square Elementary Schools, Reizenstein Middle School, and Taylor Allderdice High School. After graduating high school in 1987 Todd attended Norfolk State University, (Norfolk, VA) for 3 years.

Todd worked as a courier for 1st Courier Messenger Service for a couple of years. In 1999 started working for the Port Authority of Allegheny County, Les as he was called by his co-workers, was a Bus Operator for almost 20 years.

While working for PAT transit Todd also started a business Coles Lawn Care. He initially started the business because his oldest son wanted a cell phone and he said, “To have a cell phone you need to have a job!” So, they started cutting grass in the neighborhood which then grew into a successful business with over 100 clients over the years. It was a family business for sure all 4 of the children worked with their dad at some point.

In 1994, Todd married Stephanie Yvonne (Bullock) his high school sweetheart, at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, NV. Todd, and Stephanie have 4 children: Leslie Todd Jr., Sydney Yvonne, Kasey Paige, and Jamie Tyler. He was forever proud of their achievements and always had time to talk about them to anyone.

Todd enjoyed roller skating, building model cars & airplanes, video games, and bowling. Going to the movies and listening to music were on top of the list of his favorite things to do. His iTunes library has 16,253 songs (79.2 days) that include everything from Johnny Cash to Parliament-Funkadelic. What Todd loved most was taking his family out to eat, he enjoyed nothing more than eating, talking, and laughing with his party of 6.

On January 19, 2023, Todd departed this life for life eternal. He leaves cherished memories to his Wife, Stephanie and four Children, Leslie ‘Todd’ Jr. (Las Vegas, NV), Sydney Yvonne, Kasey Paige, and Jamie Tyler; his Parents, Velma L. Jordan (David Jordan, Temple Hills, MD) and Maurice L. Brown (Hyattsville, MD); Siblings: Terri A. Coles (Pittsburgh, PA), Jason Coles (Atlanta, GA), and Marcus L. Brown (Pittsburgh, PA); Aunts & Uncles: Arlene Coles, Floyd ‘Buddy’ Coles, David Coles (All of Pittsburgh); close Friends: Stanford Griffith and ‘Twin’ Edward Bryant; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
