LeRoy Gibson

LeRoy Gibson was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 8, 1953. He departed this life on November 29, 2023, in Pittsburgh, PA. LeRoy was educated through the Pittsburgh Public School system. After working a number of jobs, he made the decision to join the U.S. Navy, and traveled to San Diego, CA for basic training. After completing basic training LeRoy attended Hospital Corps School and after completion, he went on to further his education and became an X-Ray Technician all while in the U.S. Navy. After graduation, LeRoy married Fatima Henley and moved to Long Beach, California to continue his duties as an enlisted Navy X-Ray Technician. LeRoy received a Good Conduct Medal in January of 1983. He retired from the U.S. Navy with an Honorable Discharge in April 1984 and settled in San Diego, California with his wife Fatima and two children, Kenya Littrice and Burton Gibson (Raztazja). LeRoy came home to his birthplace, Pittsburgh on vacation, and while in Pittsburgh he applied for a job with Presbyterian Hospital as an X-Ray Technician, and was offered the position, six months later his entire family moved to Pittsburgh. LeRoy leaves to mourn Fatima Gibson-Henley; one daughter, Kenya Littrice; one son, Burton R. Gibson (Rastazja); two grandsons, Delrius and Zion; granddaughters, Fahara, Tiera, Tyra, Azjauni, Ayveri Jo. Great grandchildren, Santana, Nova, and Tatum best known as Fat-Fat all of Pittsburgh and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Dewey F. Sr. and Bertha Gibson; brothers, Rauoul James Sr., Basil Robert Sr., twin brother and best friend, Lionel and sister, Suzanne Jackson. LeRoy, knew the Bible from Genesis through Revelations and he wasn’t afraid of what was to come. He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Revelations 21:4
