Laverne A. Johnson

La Verne A. Johnson "Toni" was born February 4, 1945, in Pittsburgh, PA. Toni Departed this life at Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, @ 10:45 am. She was the only child of the late Robert Lewis and Cora Lee Scott.

Toni was educated in the Pittsburgh Public Schools at Herron Hill Junior High School and graduated from Fifth Avenue High School in 1963. Shortly thereafter, she met and married the late William Otis Johnson Sr. and to this union bore: 3 children Lavelle A. Johnson, Kimberly L. Johnson, and William O. Johnson Jr., this union was dissolved some years later and she subsequently met Jesse Wall who she has been lovingly connected to for over 40 years. This decades-long relationship produced Toni's fourth child, a baby girl Jessie Wall. 

For over 30 years Toni worked in areas that she was most passionate about one being John Kane Hospital where she provided care to residents. Toni also worked in various capacities with many community-based organizations. She also generously provided service through volunteerism. Anyone that knew Toni knew that she expressed herself through her love of dance and her high sense of fashion.

Toni was a kind and caring woman with a very dynamic and magnetic personality. She touched the lives of so many people. Everyone she encountered had an everlasting experience and some great memories. Most importantly, the LOVE Toni had for her family and loved ones was phenomenal, she dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. Her focus was to always provide guidance and support in a loving and endearing way. Toni leaves a host of family and friends to cherish her memory.
