LaShaun Elizabeth (Morris) Grimes

LaShaun Elizabeth “MaMa” Grimes age 59, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on 
January 8th, 2026.
Born on August 6, 1966, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Larry Morris Sr. and Martha L. Duncan. LaShaun was raised in Pittsburgh’s Hill District, a place that shaped her strength, character, and deep love for her city. She later became a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh. 
LaShaun graduated from Oliver High School, continued her education at Duff’s Business Institute, and went on to attend Point Park University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, reflecting her dedication to personal growth and lifelong learning. LaShaun was known for her vibrant personality, funny, sassy, and beautiful inside and out. Her warmth, humor, and quick wit left lasting impressions on everyone she met. She was famous  among family and friends for her playful warning to listen—because if you didn't, you just might get one of her well-known punches in the back, always delivered with love and laughter! She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: breakfast outings, road trips, watching Tubi and enjoying her "Situation.” But nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren, whether taking them on outings, playing games, making tik tok videos online or 
simply being present and loving in every moment.
Professionally, LaShaun spent a short time working as a Port Authority driver, but her true calling was caregiving. She dedicated 26 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a role she embraced with compassion, patience, and love. Her patients adored her, and she took great pride in caring for others as if they were family.
LaShaun was a mother to far more than just her own children. She lovingly nurtured and guided nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and foster children, opening her heart and home to anyone who needed love, support, or a safe place to stay.
Her Christian faith was a guiding force throughout her life, providing strength, comfort, and hope during both joyful and challenging times.
LaShaun is lovingly remembered by her daughters, RaShaun (Arsean) Humphrey and 
Courtney (Nathaniel) Grimes; her grandchildren affectionately called MaMa to RaShai’ Humphrey, Rayeonna Dyer, ArShiya Humphrey, RaNiya Humphrey, and Riot Burnham; and her greatgranddaughter, Sa’Raya. She is also survived by her siblings, Larry Morris Jr., Terra Morris, 
Venssa Gale, and Jerome Davis, and her stepmother, Theresa Morris.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Morris Sr.; her mother, Martha Duncan; and 
her aunt, Linda Joyce Hughley.
