Keith Pelmon III of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was called home to our Lord and Savior on June 13, 2025.
Keith Pelmon III was born on February 12, 2005 to Keith Jr. and Shyala Pelmon in Loma Linda, California. His birth served as a great blessing to his parents and sister, Shyanah, signifying joy and God's favor over their family.
Nicknamed K3, Keith Pelmon III brought honor to his family name through his abundance of love and enthusiasm for life. At an early age he showed an aptitude in athletics. He demonstrated a love for animals through a high level of expertise in horseback riding, and on the football field, his skills were unmatched and newsworthy. He played the defensive end, outside linebacker, and inside linebacker positions as #43 for Penn Hills High School. He was a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church, where he was baptized at age 6, and loved the Lord above all things.
"God, family, and football are the most important things in my life."
-Keith Pelmon III, National Prospect ID -
After graduating from high school in 2023, Keith II began working for the family business, SEK Construction and Commercial Cleaning. Keith III was determined to take his skills to the next level and committed to learning roofing and remodeling with his mother and father by his side.
Keith III will be remembered for his love of God, kind heart, warm smile, and his ability to make others feel welcomed around him.
Keith Pelmon wasn't just an athlete - he was a force. A quiet storm on the field and a steady presence off of it. At just 18 years old, Keith had already proven himself as one of the most dynamic defensive players in the region, earning respect across Pittsburgh and beyond.
Clocking a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash, benching nearly 300 pounds, and squatting over 450, Keith was built for the next level. As a hybrid linebacker/edge rusher for Penn Hills High School, he made impact plays that changed games - including a jaw-dropping interception return for a touchdown that still lives in local highlight reels. Coaches saw it. Scouts were starting to see it. He was just getting started.
In recognition of his performance, Keith was awarded Second Team All-Section honors, as well as the Second-Year Athletic Award from Penn Hills - milestones that marked only the beginning of what he was destined to achieve.
But Keith's talent wasn't limited to football. He was also a gifted horseback rider, known for his rare and natural bond with horses. There was an unspoken trust between them - a calm, powerful connection that made his riding feel effortless. Whether thundering down a trail or easing into a steady canter, Keith rode with the same grace, control, and fearlessness he brought to the football field. It was just another space where his discipline and spirit shined.
Still, Keith's legacy was never just about stats or speed. It was about who he was. Loyal. Focused. Humble. The type of young man who led by example and let his actions speak volumes. He carried dreams of college ball, of lifting his family, of going as far as his work ethic and will could take him - and that was going to be far.
What we lost wasn't just a young athlete. We lost a brother, a nephew, a friend, a teammate, and a future. We lost what could've been - a college star, maybe even a pro, but more importantly, a leader and light for his community.
Though his journey was cut short, Keith left behind a legacy of power, promise, and purpose. He won't just be remembered.
He'll be honored - in every snap played in his name, every young athlete chasing the dream he lived, and every person inspired by his spirit.
Rest in Power, Keith Pelmon. Your story is not over - we'll carry it from here.
"Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not."
