Keating Leroy Williams was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 29, 1953. He was the only child born to the late Frederick and Lillian Williams.
“Bear” as he was affectionately known, attended Wilkinsburg School District and graduated from Wilkinsburg High School in 1971. While attending high school Keating was an avid football player and because of his height and strength he was often feared by his opponent. After graduation, Keating attended the PIA School for building airplane engines.
In 1973, Keating married his high school sweet-heart, Sharon Denise Green, and thus the love story began. The two were inseparable and shared a love that served as an inspiration to all those who married. Keating and Sharon enjoyed bowling, skating and traveling to watch the car races. Sharon was Keatings best friend and soulmate and at the time of Keatings' passing they were married for almost fifty years.
Keating was employed at the US Air Corporation and then accepted an offer of employment at the McDonald Douglas Corporation, Columbus, Ohio building airplane engines. After the closing of that company Keating returned to Pittsburgh and was employed at the Department of Public Works (DPW) in Penn Hills, PA as a municipal worker. After roughly 18 years of dedicated service, he retired.
Keating had a superb personality and sense of humor. He was loved by everyone who knew him. Even though he never had children, he had three special nieces he called his daughter-nieces; Tanika, Lakisha, and Tasheanna of which he loved and adored. He was an inspired cook who loved eating his own food while he shared his delicious dishes with his family and friends.
On August 1, 2023, Keating departed this life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Lillian Williams; parents-in-laws, Howard Wesley Green Sr. and Ethel Green; brother-in-law, Howard Wesley Green Jr. and Meredith Ward; aunt Mariam Green; uncle, Theodore Green; and his puppy babies, Chaz and Babe.
He leaves cherished memories to his wife, Sharon Williams; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Ward and Nicole Green; three daughter-nieces, Tanika (Will) Owens, Lakisha (Robert) Evans, Tasheanna Ward-Green; his furry baby, Chloe who he loved and adored; and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
