Joseph Sapps III Obituary

Joseph Franklyn Sapps, III, affectionately known as Joe to all, was born on July 20, 1960, to father, Joseph Franklyn Sapps, II and mother, Barbara Addison Sapps, who have both preceded him in death.
Joe attended Westinghouse High School but was later transferred to and graduated from Penn Hills High School. Everyone and anyone who knew Joe, knows he was a true and faithful Bulldog at heart for life. After graduation, Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving from 1979-1984. Joe was a proud and passionate veteran, so much so, that he worked for the VA San Diego Healthcare System in administration. Joe lived in Louisiana and Phoenix, Arizona.
Joe moved back to his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA in 2011 so that he could reconnect and be closer to his daughter, three grandchildren, loved ones and childhood friends.
Joe found employment at CVS Caremark for 2 years. Joe then began working for Cigna at Express Scripts in 2013 and dedicated the past 9 years of loyal service prior to his passing.
Joe had an easygoing spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. Joe was a gentle and kind man who was a true and loyal friend to many. Joe was a car, clothes, shoes, and hats enthusiast. Joe had a keen eye for all four and was a sharp dresser. Everyone who knew Joe always seen him driving some sort of BMW, along with other luxury vehicles.
Joe lived his life to the fullest, he was often seen attending Westinghouse football games, banquets, reunions, picnics, concerts in the parks, boat rides, etc. Joe had a love for food, he enjoyed cooking his favorite dishes and trying new recipes. Joe absolutely loved and enjoyed traveling to the beach and different cities and states. Joe's love got his children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his circle of friends brought him an abundance of joy, which was displayed with his handsome smile, gentle hug, contagious laugh or genuine affection he shared with those he loved.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Franklyn Sapps, II, Barbara Addison Sapps, Stepmother Barbara Macklin Sapps and brother Tyrone Macklin.
 Joe leaves behind to cherish his memories; daughter, Shawnta' Lynn (Sapps) Goggins, sons, Joseph Franklyn Sapps, IV and Avondre Deshaun Sapps, son-in-law, Chad Goggins, granddaughters, TaeChaun JaNay Goggins, Tamihya Jasmine Sapps-Goggins; grandson, TreVon JaMir Goggins; Dorothea (Peachie) Jackson-Curd, mother of Shawnta' Lynn (Sapps) Goggins; five sisters, Kim, Selina, Johnnie, Traci and Michelle; three brothers, Rob, Dewayne and Rodger; Gloria Annette Chaney, mother of Joseph Franklyn Sapps, IV; honorary sons, Aaron Jackson and Devon Jackson; honorary grandson, Jaylen Jackson; Carmen Green, mother of Avondre D. Sapps; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, extended family in the community, acquaintances, co-workers and his Westinghouse Bulldog family.
