Joseph Jackson Mitchell Sr. was born on September 12, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Anthony Jackson Mitchell, and Mildred Howard Mitchell.
Joe, as we called him, loved playing cards, and chess. Joe attended Connelly Vocational Trade School. As a self-employed man, he was very generous to his employees. He was a former Marin and, worked at the J & L Steel Mill and Yellow Cab before retiring.
Husband of the late Anna Leila Taylor. They had three daughters Victoria, Jonina, and Sakia, 2 sons Joseph Jr. and Joseph Lucky and Daughter in law Tonika; 7 grandsons Lenal, Kwa’Shawn, Malcolm, Donavan, Keilen, Jordin, Josiah and grandson-in-law Donald Lewis; 3 granddaughters Kathlyn, Kiarah and Tiana and 7 great-grandchildren. Joe had 4 brothers and seven sisters. Survived by one brother Zenford Mitchell, and two sisters Antoinette Mitchell and Helen Mitchell Johnson. A host of Cousins, nieces, and nephews. brothers and sisters-in- law. He will be missed but was ready to go home. Joe loved his wife and missed her dearly. He loved his children and family. Joe made his peace with God, and asked forgiveness to anyone whom he hurt. He loved all of us.
