Jewell White

Jewell White was born September 15, 1949 to the late Bryant and Bernice (Bell) Larkin. Jewell grew up and the Hill District Area of Pittsburgh. She attended and graduated from Schenley High School in 1966.
Jewell spent 25 years as a meter maid for Duquesne Light until her retirement in the late 1990’s. Being a get up go person retirement didn’t set well with Jewell so began a working as a clerk for a few years for Urban Settlement until her health made it impossible to continue to work.
Jewell began dialysis in mid 2006 – until her death. She wasnt a fan but she didn’t let it deter her from the things she enjoyed. She was an avid slot machine player at the casino where you could find her in her signature red ball cap. She enjoyed her mini shopping excursions with grandchildren, Wednesdays after dialysis. She was the talk of the clinic with her jazzy bags and purses.
Jewell spent her “golden years” surrounded by her boys and grandchildren who doted on her until her final breath. She definitely gave kidney disease a run for its money.
Jewell leaves behind her four sons, Richard White, Randy White, Ronald White, and Reginald White, Her older sister Joyce Larkin and younger sister Janeice People. 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
She went to join her parents and her little brother Bryant Larkin Jr on May 8, 2022.
