Jason L. Ross Sr. was born in Glen Cove, New York. He was the middle child born to the late Joseph Ross Sr and Joyce Simms Ross.
Jay as he was fondly known attended several elementary and middle schools throughout the country due to his father serving in the military. However, he graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1992. He was an avid football player and won many games for the for the Bull Dogs. After graduation Jay furthered his education attending Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) and then transferred to Robert Morris University where he soared in Football and Basketball.
In 1990, Jay met Twanda Small and the two became inseparable. On November 11, 1995 they united in marriage and to this union three children, Alexis, Jason Jr., and Chrishton were born. Jay loved and adored his family. The relationship and bond he had with his children was amazing. He enjoyed cooking and family and valued the quality time they had.
His hobbies included sports especially boxing, reading, and a love for history.
He was employed as a Juvenile Counselor for Allegheny County for most of his employment career. He had the opportunity to counsel, advise and redirect lives of young men in a positive direction. He even became a father figure to some.
Jay was a member of Rapha Ministries of the Apostolic Faith Church under the pastorate of Bishop Jeremiah Thomas. He enjoyed attending services in person and online.
In 2018, tragedy struct and caused Jay’s life to be totally changed. Without a moment to prepare Jay found himself on life support battling for his life. With the unified prayers and faith of his family, Church Family Rapha Ministries and God’s people, Jay after being in a coma for several weeks was awaken by the Power of Jesus Christ. Eight months later he was able to come home and be with his family. With this gift of life Jay began ministering to people on Facebook. He had a determination to inspire, encourage and uplift others despite his own challenges. The huge response he received testifies of the spiritual impact he had and how God used him.
On March 2, 2021 while visiting his daughter, her husband and newborn grandson in the state of Washington Jay peacefully departed this life for life eternal.
