After graduation Jay furthered his education attending Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) and then transferred to Robert Morris University where he soared in Football and Basketball.
In 1990, Jay met Twanda Small and the two became inseparable. On November 11, 1995 they united in marriage and to this union three children, Alexis, Jason Jr., and Chrishton were born. Jay loved and adored his family. The relationship and bond he had with his children was amazing. He enjoyed cooking and family and valued the quality time they had.

Eight months later he was able to come home and be with his family. With this gift of life Jay began ministering to people on Facebook. He had a determination to inspire, encourage and uplift others despite his own challenges. The huge response he received testifies of the spiritual impact he had and how God used him.
On March 2, 2021 while visiting his daughter, her husband and newborn grandson in the state of Washington Jay peacefully departed this life for life eternal.
